Hello everyone!!! Today i'm gonna write about my new favourite! ( i have a lot of favourites). Love Letters To The Dead, written by Ava Dellaira, is truly an inspiring story on how people can really be depressed but still attempt to fake a smile and try to move on. Its very hard to move on from depression, but its easy to get depressed. Here is the short synopsis from the book :

Sometimes the best letters go unanswered.
      It begins as an English assignment for English class :
write a letter to a dead person. Laurel (the main character) chooses Kurt Cobain- he died young, and so did Laurel's sister May- so maybe he'll understand what Laurel is going through.
   
      Soon Laurel is writing letters to lots of dead people- Janis Joplin, Heath Ledger, River Phoenix, Amelia Earhart, Amy Winehouse... It's like she can't stop. She writes about her new high school, her new friends, her new friends, her first love- and her heart shattered.

      But the ghosts of Laurel's past can't be contained between the lines of a page forever. She must face up to them- before they consume her.

That's how the story goes. Day by day, Laurel pours her heart out by writing these letter. And somehow, she feels better. She tries very hard to move on from May's death. May was her best friend and always made Laurel feel safe in any situation. May was also the live wire of everything- classes, family times, anything. She was loved by everyone and for Laurel, that made her worried. Laurel was afraid of losing May forever. When Laurel lost May in a tragic accident that happened near the river, Laurel was simply frustrated with herself. She lost the person who she promised to protect at any time. Apart from that, what bothers her more is that her parents got divorced before May went to high school and after her death, her mother moved to California, leaving Laurel and her father in their home. She left because she couldn't handle the pain and grieve she was going through and said she has to go and get some time for herself. Laurel felt angry and sad because her mother left her but she also loves her dearly.

She writes and writes and writes and eventually, she comes to her last letter, feeling like a new person and her family back to a better condition. She still missed May and loved her very much and knew May is watching her from above. It was a great experience reading this book and I hope more books like this will be published in the future
