One day, God asked Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh. God said, "Tell the people there that I am angry because of their terrible, awful sins! Warn them that they must change or I will destroy them." But Jonah didn't want to warn the people of the city of Nineveh so he got on a ship and sailed far away in the other direction . But God sent a stormy wind onto the ocean. The wind made big waves crash against Jonah's ship. The ship started filling up with water! The ship's sailors were very afraid. They even threw things into the sea to help keep the ship from sinking.But Jonah was asleep. Jonah woke up. He asked the sailors to throw him into the sea, so they did. After that,the wind stopped. He got swallowed by a hungry fish. The fish spit him out and was on dry land. He ran to Nineveh and told them and God was happy. I like it because it teaches us on how to be obedient.
