This book is about the life of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also known as Bapu, Mahatma- Mahatma(great soul), and Mahatma Gandhi.
He started as a young boy who was afraid of speaking in public. His mother then read to him the old Hindu scripture, which read,
"Those who follow this imperishable path of devotional service and who completely engage themselves with faith..."(yes, that was all)
When Mohan(Gandhi's first name) was thirteen years old, he met a girl from Modh Banias
(A merchant caste) named Kasturba, whom he was going to marry.
(A merchant caste) named Kasturba, whom he was going to marry.
Five years later, Mohan decided to go to England,
where an Englishman, advised Mohan to read an Indian scripture. Which read
" Do not get angry or harm any living creature"
"Avoid malice and pride"
When Mohan was twenty-two, he returned to Calcutta, finding out of his mother's death.
I like this book because it is inspiring, and it shows people how non-violence can bring down an army without hurting anyone, and, shows everyone should be treated equally.
