Little Red Riding Hood

The book that I read was Little Red Riding Hood by Susanna Davidson. This book is about Little Red Riding Hood and her mother. One day, Mother Red Riding Hood told Little Red Riding Hood to give her grandmother a pot of vegetable soup. But before she goes she must remember the Rules of the Woods. When Little Red Riding Hood was walking and skipped along the path, a wolf was following her. A woodcutter called Little Red Riding Hood and then Little Red Riding Hood was waving back to him. Little Red Riding Hood walked deeper and deeper into the woods. Then the sun hid behind the clouds and it got darker still. So Little Red Riding Hood didn’t see the wolf waiting for her on the path. And the wolf didn’t see Little Red Riding Hood either. Little Red Riding Hood stepped on the wolf’s tail and then on his paw and dropped her basket on the wolf’ head. Both the wolf and Little Red Riding Hood were talking angrily. But Little Red Riding Hood had forgotten not to talk to wolves. The wolf asked what’s in that basket. Little Red Riding Hood replied it was vegetable soup. Little Red Riding Hood was taking it to her grandmother. Wolves only eat juicy, red meat. The wolf never touched vegetables. The wolf was about to gobble up Little Red Riding Hood. But then the wolf had an idea to eat Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother. He asked where does Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother live. Little Red Riding Hood replied in the cottage on the other side of the woods. The wolf told Little Red Riding Hood to take some flowers for her grandmother. So Little Red Riding Hood left the path to look for flowers and the wolf raced off to the grandmother’s house. He knocked lightly on the door pretending himself to be Little Red Riding Hood who brought some lovely vegetable for grandmother. The wolf let himself in. The wolf leaped into the room. He gobbled up Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother. Then he climbed into the bed to wait for Little Red Riding Hood. Little Red Riding Hood knocked lightly on the door and the wolf pretend to be her grandmother and let her in. The wolf pulled on the grandmother’s cap and hid under the blankets. Little Red Riding Hood said she brought some lovely vegetable. The wolf told Little Red Riding Hood to put the basket on the stool and come and sit next to him. And then Little Red Riding Hood told the wolf he looked different from her grandmother. The wolf gobbled up Little Red Riding Hood. Then the wolf lay down on bed to sleep. The wolf snored so loudly the woodcutter heard the wolf. The woodcutter ran to the grandmother’s cottage. But the woodcutter couldn’t see the grandmother anywhere – only a very fat wolf. The woodcutter thought that the old woman was eaten by the wolf. The woodcutter cut open the wolf tummy and Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother popped out. The woodcutter put stones in the wolf’s tummy and the grandmother sewed the tummy up. Then the wolf woke up. He tried to sneak out of the door, but the stones rattled inside him. Then everyone can hear him coming. The wolf never again ate another person. As for Little Red Riding Hood she lived happily ever after. I love the book because it tells us we must be careful.
